PLAB NOT NEEDED FOR INDIAN DOCS!

Hi Friends,

Drs from India would be able to work in UK without going through IELTS and PLAB
This would be case to case basis only reputed institutes would be enrolled
British doctors may similarly work in India -Mr Smith may eventually be found in Rampur Dist Hospital doing a locum !!!
This will have immense impact and will facilitate massive exchange of knowledge and expertise between the two countries and doctors from both the nations will benefit. I am sure significant changes in visa regulations will also follow.Considering the immense market that medical tourism offers it will facilitate the exchange of patients and many procedures would probably be officially out-sourced by NHS.
I think its a good move to regulate it officially and systematically than in a haphazard way as it normally happens.

DNA report on this

NEW DELHI: Indian doctors may soon be able to practice in Britain without having to go through a series of qualifying exams, with a consensus on the issue reached at a meeting of the Health Care Working Group of the UK-India Joint Economic Trade Committee (JETCO) on June 6.

The working group had proposed that medical degrees from reputed institutions be recognised by both the countries on a case by case basis as it would cut out years of qualifying examinations, besides ease rules governing issue of visa to the recognised degree-holders.
report continued below

Once accepted by the both governments, even qualified doctors from UK would be able to practise in India.

The proposal would now be put before JETCO in the first week of July prior to its presentation to the two governments.

JETCO is co-chaired by India's Commerce and Industry Minister Kamal Nath and British Trade Minister Alistair Darling.

Significantly, Health Care Working Group is co-chaired by UK government official David Hawkins and Fortis Managing Director Shivinder Mohan Singh, who also heads FICCI's health care committee. JETCO's Health Care Working Group is being co-ordinated from India by FICCI.

"JETCO's own working group has reached a consensus and the ball has started rolling," said FICCI Secretary General Amit Mitra.

At present, immigrant doctors are required to take professional and linguistic assessment board test and nurses are required to clear qualifying exams to register with the Nurses and Midwife Council in the UK.

Both Medical Council of India (MCI) and The British General Medical Council (GMC) stopped recognising each other's medical degrees over 3O years back.

Mitra said if the governments agree on the proposal, both the nations would benefit. India in the coming 2-3 years would need more experts and medical specialists since the demand in corporate hospitals is going up.

It will also help Britain to address the problem of human resource crunch in this area.

"India will gain from knowledge-sharing and medical tourism will also get a boost from this initiative," he added.

DARE TO BE

When a new day begins, dare to smile gratefully
When there is darkness, dare to be the first to shine a light
When there is injustice, dare to be the first to condemn it
When something seems difficult, dare to do it anyway
When life seems to beat you down, dare to fight back
When there seems to be no hope, dare to find some
When you're feeling tired, dare to keep going
When times are tough, dare to be tougher
When love hurts you, dare to love again
When someone is hurting, dare to help them heal
When another is lost, dare to help them find their way
When a friend falls, dare to be the first to extend a hand
When you feel great, dare to help someone else feel great too
When the day has ended, dare to feel as you've done your best
dare to be the best you can- all time!

NATIONAL DO NOT CALL REGISTRY

Most of you have received many unsolicited telemarketing calls/SMS on your mobile phones related to ICICI Bank products, Other company products and services.
Most of the time, these are a nuisance as they are during business hours, work engagements and meetings.
Such calls intrude our privacy and also are a waste of valuable time.
There is some encouraging news as the Government of India has taken a laudable initiative (National Do Not Call Registry) to prevent such unsolicited calls.
TRAI has developed a website where subscribers may register their phone numbers "under do-not-call registry" after the recent Supreme Court judgment.
At Infosys, the company has already registered all the official mobile lines under the above scheme.
In case you want to get rid of all the problems mentioned above, please access this site & register your number.
Requests will become effective in 45 days from the date of request. Subscriber may confirm whether their number is included in the NDNC registry home page.
Please contact your telecom service provider: like Airtel, Spice, BSNL, Reliance for more details.

A BRIDGE TOO FAR

The Lord RAM surveyed the Ram Setu and said
"Hanuman, how diligently and strenuously you and your vanara sena had built this bridge several centuries back. It is remarkable that it has withstood the ravages of the climatic and geographical changes over centuries. It is indeed an amazing feat especially considering the fact that a bridge at Hyderabad built by Gammon using latest technology collapsed the other day even before they could stick the posters on its pillars."
Hanuman with all humility spoke
"Jai Sri Ram, it is all because of your grace. We just scribbled your name on the bricks and threw them in thesea and they held. No steel from TISCO or cement from Ambuja or ACC was ever used. But Lord, why rake up the old issue now."
Ram spoke
"Well, Hanuman some people down there want to demolish the bridge and construct a canal. The contract involves lot of money and lot of money will be made. They will make money on demolition and make more money on construction. "
Hanuman humbly bowed down and said
"Why not we go down and present our case"
Ram said
"Times have changed since we were down there. They will ask us to submit age proof and we don't have either a birth certificate or school leaving certificate. We traveled mainly on foot and some times in bullock carts and so we don't have a driving license either. As far as the address proof is concerned the fact that I was born at Ayodhya is itself under litigation for over half a century, If I go in a traditional attire with bow and arrow, the ordinary folks may recognize me but Arjun Singh may take me to be some tribal and, at the most, offer a seat at IIT under the reserved category. Also, a God cannot walk in dressed in a three-piece suit and announce his arrival. It would make even the devotees suspicious. So it is dilemma so to say."
"I can vouch for you by saying that I personally built the bridge."
"My dear, Anjani putra, it will not work. They will ask you to produce the lay-out plan, the project details, including financial outlay and how the project cost was met and the completion certificate. Nothing is accepted without documentary evidence in India. You may cough but unless a doctor certifies it, you have no cough. A pensioner may present himself personally but the authorities do not take it as proof. He has to produce a life-certificate to prove that he is alive. It is that complicated."
"Lord can't understand these historians. Over the years you have given darshan once every hundred years to saints like Surdas, Tulsidas, Saint Thyagaraja, Jayadeva, Bhadrachala Ramdas and even Sant Tukaram and still they disbelieve your existence and say Ramayana is a myth. The only option, I see, is to re-enact Ramayana on earth and set the government records straight once for all."
Lord smiled
"It isn't that easy today. Ravan is apprehensive that he may look like a saint in front of Karunanidhi. I also spoke to his mama Mareecha, who appeared as a golden deer to tempt Sita maiyya when I was in the forest and he said that he won't take a chance of stepping on earth as long as Salman Khan is around."

THINK!!

A boy was born to a couple after eleven years of marriage.
They were a Loving couple and the boy was the gem of their eyes.
When the boy was around two years old, one morning the husband saw a medicine bottle open.
He was late for office so he asked his wife to cap the bottle and keep it in the cupboard.
His wife, preoccupied in the kitchen totally forgot the matter.
The boy saw the bottle and playfully went to the bottle fascinated by its colour and drank it all. It happened to be a poisonous medicine meant for adults in small dosages.
When the child collapsed the mother hurried him to the hospital, where he died.
The mother was stunned. She was terrified how to face her husband.

When the distraught father came to the hospital and saw the dead child ,he looked at his wife and uttered just five words.
QUESTIONS :1. What were the five words?
2. What is the implication of this story?

ANSWER :The husband just said " I am with you Darling"
The husband's totally unexpected reaction is a proactive behaviour.
The child is dead. He can never be brought back to life.
There is no point in finding fault with the mother.
Besides, if only he had taken time to keep the bottle away, this would not have happened. No one is to be blamed. She had also lost her only child.
What she needed at that moment was consolation and sympathy from the husband.
That is what he gave her.
If everyone can look at life with this kind of perspective, there would be much fewer problems in the world.
MORAL OF THE STORY
Sometimes we spend time in asking who is responsible or whom to blame,in the relationship, but by this way we miss out some warmth that is needed... some things are not merely to blame..
Remember always that life is not that easy to understand as it seems...Never try to apply your logic to understand every situation...
Let life enjoy its own complexity.. You are just a small part of dis whole complicated universe...
always try to be happy

LETTER FROM A DAUGHTER

A father passing by his teenage daughter's bedroom was astonished to
see the bed was nicely made andeverything was neat and tidy.

Then he saw an envelope propped up prominently on the centre of the pillow.

It was addressed "Dad".

With the worst premonition, he opened the envelopeand read the letter with tremblinghands:-

Dear Dad,It is with great regret and sorrow that I'm writing you, but I'm leaving home .

I had to elope with my newboyfriend Randy because I wanted to avoid a scene with Mom and you.

I've been finding real passion with Randyand he is so nice to me. I know when you meet him you'll like him too - even with all his piercing, tattoos, and motorcycle clothes.

But it's not only the passion Dad, I'mpregnant and Randy said that he wantsme to have the kid and that we can be very happy together.

Even though Randy is much older than me(anyway, 42 isn't so old these days is it?), and has no money, reallythese things shouldn't stand in theway of our relationship , don't you agree?

Randy has a great CD collection;

he already owns a trailer in the woods and has a stack of firewood for!the whole winter.

It's true he has other girlfriends as well but I knowhe'll be faithful to me in his ownway.

He wants to have many more children with me and that's now one of my dreams too.

Randy taught me thatmarijuana doesn't really hurt anyone and he'll be growing it for us andwe'll trade it with our friendsfor all the cocaine and ecstasy we want.

In the meantime, we'll pray that science will find a cure forAIDS so Randy can get better; he sure deserves it!!Your loving daughter,Rosie.

At the bottom of the page were the letters "PTO".

Hands still trembling, her father turned the sheet, and read:

PS: Dad, none of the above is true.

I'm over at the neighbor's house.

I just wanted to remind you thatthere are worse things in life than my report card that's in my deskcentre drawer.

Please sign it and call when it is safe for me to come home.

I love you
